Description
Bentonite Clay actually forms after volcanic ash ages – it’s named after Fort Benton, Wyoming – where the largest source of this clay can be found (according to Healthline). It’s also found all over the world.
it has so many amazing properties and uses! It helps to absorb excess oil from the skin, detoxifies, removes dead skin cells, soothes inflammation and rashes, very mineral rich, and exfoliates just to name a few benefits!
This face mask is simply bentonite clay – there are approximately 3-4 uses per container. Since bentonite has a slight electrical charge – do not use metal utensils when mixing up your mask. Take about 1/2 tablespoon of the clay and put into a separate bowl – you can then mix with either water or apple cider vinegar. Mix it into a paste – I just add a little water/vinegar at a time until it is the consistency of “mud”. I apply to a clean, dry face – then let it set for about 10-15 minutes or until it begins to harden. You will know as your face will start feeling tight! Then just gently remove with a lukewarm washcloth and water!
This can also be used as just a “spot” treatment for acne or rashes.
How often? Honestly…..you can do this about as often as you like – if you have some severe acne or inflammation you can do it more frequently, if you are not experiencing those troubles I would do it weekly or as you feel you need it!
Your face will feel clean and fresh! Afterwards I always apply face cream moisturizer – you can do as you prefer depending on your skin type!
